“Reflection paper based on my experiences in the use of ICT tools in Senior High School”

The extent of ICT integrated in the teaching learning process in the Senior High School program has a positive impact on the students of Grade 11. Students were able to make blogs/websites that contain ICT Development. It was used to communicate ideas and possible designs for the blog,and also they were able to see pictures and videos from their home rather than the live classroom that is related to the lesson for this subject.

The opportunities brought about by this ICT integration in Senior High School - students were able to experience the new technology in today’s generation. They were tasks given online by this educational website called ‘Genyo,’ a website where teachers can put files, videos, and students will submit this either from Genyo or Gmail so, it is so much easier than printing this. And due to the electronic gadgets, both teachers and students can do a presentation via powerpoint, prezzy, and many more for it has easy access comparing it to the low-tech used in the classroom before.

I responded to these opportunies by being more organized than before. A laptop that can put many unlimited files and other things in it is very helpful in today’s generation and mostly at the school. Methods of teaching and presenting in front of the class can not be underestimated; it can be changed, developed, could be more effective in presenting new topics either from the teachers or students. And mostly, I was able to respond to these opportunities by being interested on the given topics and how I noticed the classroom time being spent wisely because of how the new technologies that was use.

The challenges brought about by the ICT integration in Senior High School is how the new technologies that are being used affect the generation. If you create a blog, you should already know that it is seen by the public which let them comment their opinions. Though, by their suggestive comments, you can approve this on your own because you know the pros and cons onwards. The ICT integration provided clearer meanings to participants of Grade 11 through the conveyance of nonverbal cues, rapid feedback, personality traits, natural language, etc. that helps when you’re at home and is needed to do a group project.

For me, the real challenge brought about by the ICT integration in the Senior High School is how communication is fast by just the use of social media websites. This is helpful if you need help on specifc topics for a subject. And also website must look nice because you want those to get more attention than the less important parts.

My experiences can help me prepare for whatever lies after this semester/Senior High School, I learned so many things from this subject, Empowerment Technologies. This subject introduced me to new topics that I think is useful for my future. This could prepare me for my college which will be much needed for my college years.
